labuino Alpha | has the same pinout as the 2009 Arduino Duemilanove and is therefore shield compatible. It will come up double sided with just a few SMD parts, so it is easy to fabricate at home. The big difference to the Arduino board lies in the removable FT232, which allows you to use it much more project-related and makes the fabrication much cheaper.
labuino Alpha micro | is basically the same as the normal Alpha version but comes up as a 'Little Footprint' and is therefore much smaller than the normal Arduino boards. This version isn't shield-compatible any more but comes also up with a removeable FT232 which is same sized as the Alpha FT232 and can therefore be used with both labuino boards.
There are also some shields currently under developement:
The | TLC Shield | uses 1 TLC 5940 but is stackable.
The | TLC Servo Shield | is almost the same, but will allow you to use TLCs for Servo control.
The | Stepper Shield | uses a L297 - L298 combo and allows you to control one bipolar stepper motor with 2A and max 46V in full and half step mode.
The | Motor Shield | comes up in two versions. Version Nr.1 uses two L293D and allows you to attach up to 4 bi-directional DC motors with max 600mA. Version Nr.2 uses one L293. You can attach up to 2 motors with max 1,2 A.
